Indians come from 10 runs down to beat Rays

The Cleveland Indians, after being down 10-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth, rallied back to score 11 runs to beat the Tampa Bay Rays 11-10. 7 of the runs came in the bottom of the ninth for the Indians. Ryan Garko, the star of the game, had two homeruns and 5 RBI’s during the comeback win.

Sabathia Traded to the Yankees?

Well it’s not official yet, but its getting close. C.C. Sabathia is about to become the highest paid pitcher, ever! As stated from another source, the preliminary agreement on Sabathia’s contract would be a seven-year deal worth $161 million. Now it’s just a waiting game to see what happens.

Yankees win 8th straight game

It looks like all the Yankees needed was the All-Star break. Since coming back from the break, they have won eight straight games. Their latest win, lead by Andy Pettitte, was a 10-3 win over the Boston Red Sox. The Yankees are now just one game within Boston and three games behind Tampa Bay.

Marcus Williams acquired by the Warriors

Marcus Williams, formally of the New Jersey Nets, was acquired today by the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors added Williams to their team in order to fill their backup point guard position. The Warriors used to have Baron Davis, but after trading him to the Clippers, they had to get Williams to fill his spot. They traded a first-round draft pick in order to get him. Marcus Williams averaged 5.9 points and 2.6 assists last year with the Nets, with only playing in 53 games due to a broken right foot for the first part of the season.

Justin Morneau wins Home Run Derby

Josh Hamilton shines in the first round of the Home Run Derby by hitting 28, which set a new all-time record for any round of the derby to date. However, he didn’t have enough in the final round to beat Justin Morneau.

Mets Win 7th Straight Game

Damion Easley hit a homerun in the eighth inning against the Colorado Rockies to lift the Mets in a 2-1 win. The Mets have now won seven straight games. This was also the fourth straight game where they have kept their opponent to only three hits.

Is Moises Alou Career Over?

Moises Alou, left fields for the New York Mets, has a torn left hamstring which will end his season. This injury could possibly end his career as well. Surgery is not required but is recommended in order for Alou to have the best recovery. Unfortunately for Alou, he hasn’t played as much lately in the past seasons due to injuries. In fact, he hasn’t played more than 100 games in a season since 2005.

Tony Steward departs from Gibbs racing team

Tony Steward will be leaving the Joe Gibbs Racing team effective tomorrow. His replacement will be by the name of Joey Logano. He will be in the No. 20 car starting next season. Stewart will become an owner (with 50% of the share) and a driver at Haas CNC Racing.
